Lawn tractors and ride on lawn mowers are much the same thing except that lawn tractors tend to be bigger, it is generally though that lawn tractors are suitable for lawns between 1 and 5 acres. The smaller ride on lawn mowers are ideal for lawns of about 0.5 to 1 acre.

We supply lawn tractor mowers with cutting widths from 63cm (25”) to 102cm (40”)

Whilst the cutting width and turning circle are important, you must consider access to the lawn, for instance do you have to get it through any gates? So the overall width is important.

Other things to consider are is it easy to start? Does it have an electric start?

All tractor mowers have adjustable cutting heights, but check that the heights available are suitable for you requirement.

Does it have hand and foot controls? Some only have hand controls.

Can you add attachments to it later? Like trailers, spreaders, sprayers, aerators, and lawn rollers.

Above all you must have somewhere to store it or you will need to get a cover for it.

 Garden Shredders will convert small branches, twigs and leaves into mulch for use around the garden or small pieces that will compost much quicker meaning no more burning of garden rubbish, or trips to the tip.

Noise levels and type of blades

The quieter garden shredders tend to be the dearer ones, as they have different cutting system. The quiet shredders have turning gogs that pull the material into the shredder where it is crushed before it is cut.

Electric shredders tend to be cheaper, but you must ensure that the cable is long enough to get into the position where you will use it.

Pressure washers are rated by water pressure and water flow. Both pressure and flow are important in determining the right washer for the work you will be using it for.

The water pressure rating is measured in bars; this indicates how much pressure is available. The more pressure the machine delivers, the more power it has to lift dirt. The water flow is just as important, the more water the pressure washer delivers the faster the dirt can be washed away. This is measured in litres per hour. A dirty car will need a pressure of about 110 bar whilst a hard to reach job like a roof will need at least 120 – 130 bar

Light work – 100 bar +

These pressure washers can be used for cleaning garden equipment, garden furniture, barbecues, cycles, and bins.

Medium work – 110 bar +

These pressure washers can be used for cleaning cars and other vehicles, guttering, boats, swimming pools, hot tubs and spa pools.

Tougher work – 120 bar +

Pressure washers with this rating and above are ideal for roofs, paths, driveways and patios. Brick, concrete and stone walling, and also farm machinery.

By attaching different nozzles designed for specific jobs the cleaning power can be increased to get the job done more effectively.

Pressure washers are very efficient alternative to a garden hose, providing up to 25 times more pressure. However you will need to check you have long enough cable and hose to get to the water and electricity supplies.
